"Can I play with re-prints?"

  • Old School Brawl follows the typical Eternal Central reprint legality for Old School, that is, all original-art, old-border, non-foil printings of cards are acceptable. This includes but is not limited to Revised, 4th Edition/Chronicles, CE/IE, Artist Proofs, World Championship (gold border) printings, and Timeshifted. Revised Serendib Efreet and Plateau are also legal. Promo cards from 1994 (Arena, Sewers of Estark) are legal.

"Can I play with proxies?"

  • No, proxies are not allowed.

"Can I play with off colour moxen?"

  • No, your moxen need to have the same colours as your commander. For example if you play with Sindbad as your commander you cannot play with a Mox Jet, because Sindbad only has a blue mana symbol and Mox Jet produces black mana.

"What is colour identity and why is it important?"

  • The color identity of all cards in your deck must fall within the color identity of your commander (color identity encompasses coloured mana symbols in both the card's cost and its rules text—for example, Axelrod Gunnarson's color identity is black-red).

"How does Fellware stone work in Brawl?"

  • The stone works the same as in regular 93/94. That means that it can produce different colour mana than your commander. This is the case, because it doesn't have a different mana symbol on the card. The same thing goes for cards such as Birds of Paradise, Metamorphosis, Celestial Prism and Standing Stones.
