You have access to online writing supports through the “Online Tutoring and Support Services” course listed in your Canvas dashboard.
Rutgers University welcomes students with disabilities into all of the University's educational programs. In order to receive consideration for reasonable accommodations, a student with a disability must contact the appropriate disability services office at the campus where you are officially enrolled, participate in an intake interview, and provide documentation. View documentation guidelines.
If the documentation supports your request for reasonable accommodations, your campus’ disability services office will provide you with a Letter of Accommodations. Please share this letter with your instructors and discuss the accommodations with them as early in your courses as possible. To begin this process, please complete the Registration Form on the ODS web site.
Being a student can sometimes be challenging, and our goal is to support student success in the classroom and throughout the program. If you are struggling academically or have other concerns, please communicate these concerns to your instructor. The Office of Student Affairs and/or your advisor are also here to help facilitate your academic success. They can help with course-related issues and refer you to other academic resources and/or Rutgers programs to support your well-being.
Explore additional resources categorized by campus (New Brunswick, Newark, Camden) and include supports related to behavioral health/counseling, legal aid, and health services. Find more information about reporting a bias-related incident.
We know that supporting well-being also means paying attention to the strengths you have throughout the academic year. ScarletWell is a New Brunswick program to promote wellness, and many of the resources listed on the website are available to students on all campuses.
The Rutgers Center of Alcohol and Substance Use Studies also has a set of wellness guides and tools that can also be helpful to anyone who wants to build wellness activities into their daily lives.
Our school is committed to fostering a safe, productive learning environment. Title IX and our school policy prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, which regards sexual misconduct — including harassment, domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We understand that sexual violence can undermine students’ academic success and we encourage students who have experienced some form of sexual misconduct to talk to someone about their experience, so they can get the support they need.
Confidential support and academic advocacy are available through the Rutgers Office on Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance, 848.932.1181. Services are free and confidential and available 24 hrs/day, 7 days a week.
