Game A - SEIZE
SEIZE is a Fast-Paced Melee Action Game where you play as an elite cybernetic feline, infiltrating deep into enemy territory to reclaim what's yours.
PROTOTYPING Phase 1 - Core Player Mechanics
The early concept used to be a Fast-paced Movement Shooter game inspired by Titanfall 2, hence the horizontal wall running mechanic prototype shown above. However, the core mechanic of the game is the feline's pounce, where is a multipurpose mechanic that is both a movement and combat ability. As the player pounce hit an enemy, they will be repounce with a higher speed towards the direction of their aim.
PROTOTYPING Phase 2 - Wallrun Mechanic Revamp
To better replicate the movement of a feline. we move from a front-to-back wallrunning to an omnidirectional front-back-left-right wallrun.
PROTOTYPING Phase 2 - Lock-on Pounce Mechanic
From the earlier playtests, it was observed that manual pounce aiming was difficult & unpredictable to most players, hence by implementing soft locking to one of the most common mechanic in the game, players are able to guarantee successful hits on enemies.
PROTOTYPING Phase 3 - Support Mechanics
PLAYER SUPPORT 01
The player's railgun is also design with the capability to slow down time. This is done to replicate the bullet time effects in movies, enhancing that John Wick–style, one-man-army intensity.
PLAYER SUPPORT 02
Purple batteries are placed around the play area. They are designed to replenish all player's abilities on hit, allowing them to chain combo movement attacks.
Game B - CARBON BUSTER
Play as an eco-punk armed with a bat, swinging through carbon-emitting robots determined to tear her down.
This is a endless third-person beat em up made in a 48 hours game jam. Features include a 3-hit melee combo & a simple upgrade system after every wave. Each wave will also increase in difficulty where enemy amount increases.
