Race Protocol

Cancelled as of 22 August 2019. All entrants will be refunded via pay pal within 7 to ten working days.

Anyone aged 18 and over is welcome to enter. No upper age limit

Please ensure that you are fit enough to complete the run. If you cannot manage to complete the run at walking pace, the marshal following the race will assist you in arranging transport at the next access road. We will provide transport to the end of the run when possible, but please bear in mind that you may need to travel by bus. This may mean more than one bus to reach your destination.

The Red Cross will be on hand to deal with injuries. Please ask someone to tell the next marshal if you are injured and cannot continue.

Running carries huge health benefits, but also caries risk of injury or illness. Please be aware of your own limits. You enter the run at your own risk.

The run crosses over four roads with a significant amount of traffic (and under one very busy one). We have no authority to stop vehicles, so please give way to cars. Marshals will be at the junctions, so please take notice of them.

Please do not attempt to take the shortcut at 7.2 miles, it leads to disqualification.

Please use the baggage labels provided. If travelling via the shuttle bus from the finish, please lodge your bag in the Marquee according to your last name. If travelling by public bus direct to the start, please put your baggage on the shuttle bus. It will be sorted for your arrival. Collect your bag from the Marquee in the section labelled with the first letter of your last name. Please avoid leaving valuables in your bags. They are left at your own risk. We suggest taking notes above £5 with you to limit any risk of theft. If you don't have a secure pocket, notes can be rolled up and fastened in an elastic band which can be secured in any pocket with a safety pin.

Race numbers are not transferable.

Please avoid littering the countryside. Please only throw waste in the bins provided.

Sponsorship is optional. If you want are happy to arrange sponsorship, we recommend Macmillan Nurses.

Profits from the race entry fee will be divided between Citizens Advice County Durham, the Royal British Legion and The Meadows which supports survivors of rape and abuse in the Durham and Darlington areas.

Please use the public transport routes available to reach the race if at all possible. Try to arrive in good time. If the demand merits it, we will make arrangements for extra buses from Durham to Lanchester.

Above all enjoy your race. Food drink and music will be available at the end of the race so please feel free to make a day of it.
