Feb 2016: Prof. Basu is selected as IEEE Distinguished lecturer for the Circuits and Systems Society, 2016-17!

Jan 2016: Jyotibdha Acharya starts PhD with our group to work on wearable smart sensors. He did his bachelors from Jadavpur University.

Oct 2015: Prof. Basu delivers invited talks at Georgia Institute of Technology, Case Western Reserve University and Purdue University.

Oct 2015: The group had 3 papers in BioCAS-- out of these, Praveen's and Mahdi's papers were invited to Special Issues in IEEE Trans. on Biomedical Circuits and Systems. Congratulations!

Aug 2015: Prof. Basu delivers invited talk at IEEE Biopro workshop in Taiwan. Dr. Chen Yi leads a hands-on research project as well!

July 2015: Prof. Basu delivered tutorial at IJCNN 2015 on Spiking Neural Networks.

June 2015: Prof. Basu leads research topic at Telluride neuromorphic workshop jointly with IBM team led by Dr. John Arthur.

May 2015: The group had 4 papers in ISCAS-- out of these, Roshan's paper was invited to Special Issue in IEEE Trans. on Biomedical Circuits and Systems. Congratulations!

April 2015: New research fellow Sai Praveen Kadiyala joins BRAIN lab. He has done his B.Tech and PhD in EE & CS respectively from IIT Kharagpur, India.

Feb 2015: Chen Yi successfully completes his PhD oral examination! First graduate from BRAIN Lab is Dr. Chen Yi! Many congratulations!

Jan 2015: New research associate Aakash Patil joins BRAIN lab. He has done his B.Tech and M.Tech in EE from IIT Bombay, India.

March 2014: New post-doctoral Research fellow Sougata joins the lab. He has done his PhD from IIT Kharagpur, India.

Feb 2014: Prof. Basu is co-PI on a MOE Tier 2 grant on "Ultra Low Power Neuromorphic Computing with Spin-devices" with PI as Prof. Chip Hong. Congratulations to all winners!

Dec 2013: Prof. Basu delivers invited talk at Symposium on Grand Challenges in Neural Technology, Singapore.

Sept 2013: Enyi successfully defends his qualifying examinations. Congratulations!!

Aug 2013: Two papers on Dendritic Liquid State Machine and Neuromorphic ELM accepted at IEEE BioCAS to be held in Rotterdam. Congratulations to Enyi and Subhrajit!!

Aug 2013: Amitava Banerjee joined our group--Welcome! He has done a B.E from Jadavpur University and M. Tech from IIT Kharagpur.

Aug 2013: Professor Shih-Chii Liu from Institute of Neuroinformatics, Zurich visits BRAIN lab.

June 2013: Dinup Sukumaran finishes his M.Engg dissertation on "Smart Sensor for EEG Acquisition and Epileptic Seizure Detection with On-Chip Analog Classifier". He is currently working at Finisar.

Feb 2013: Paper on dendritic processing and structural plasticity accepted at IJCNN 2013! Congratulations Shaista and Roshan.

Feb 2013: Paper on approximate/ inexact computing accepted at DAC 2013! This work is done in collaboration with Rice Univeristy.

Feb 2013: Prof. Basu awarded the MOE AcRF Tier 2 grant on "Neuro-inspired Reconfigurable Processor: Circuits with `Emergent' Structure".

Dec 2012: Sun Shuo completes his M. Engg dissertation on "Analysis and Reduction of Mismatch in Low Power Sub-threshold Silicon Neurons". His fist job is at Marvell.

Oct 2012: Professor Jennifer Hasler from Georgia Tech, USA visits BRAIN lab.

Feb 2012: Prof. Basu awarded the TR35@Singapore award from MIT Technology review for being among the top 12 scientists under the age of 35 in the Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand region.
