Bracero News Part 2

"The Swisher County News" For "Talk Tulia" the newspaper brought out information about a Bracero who worked in the cotton fields. They were known for being peaceful and hard workers. Their names were Carlos and Francisco. It talked about their lives and how hard they worked. It brought out details on the workers and how they would have long hours of processing from the borders to travel wherever they worked at. They talked about Francisco who would work only three times a week because the Mexican Government ruled out only working once in the US. He would only make $5 a day and that would sometimes make him $25 a week. According to the article, Francisco would only have enough to provide for his family for only six months. Some interesting facts the article talked about was how braceros had no cars and they only had an "Alien Laborers permit and Identification Card" which basically is a passport to the US. They had a catholic church on Sundays. "Braceros earned more money than many professionals in Mexico". is a quote from the Newspaper.
