Many of the Braceros coming up from Mexico were grateful for the opertunity to work and to have a way to financially support their families back home. 

Many Braceros had to pay to keep the contracts they had, some had moved togethger in community groups and so the only way they could keep their familial ties was to ensure their contracts stayed in the same region and paying bribes to farmers or government officials was the only way to ensure this. 

When the program ended or Braceros would return home at the end of a contract, local farms felt the largest effects, many farmers were hoping that the Braceros would return on their own and work as laborers directly hired by the farms.
