About Us

The Bow Benders 4-H Archery Club applies the philosophy and structure of 4-H youth development to the sport of archery. We accommodate all levels of archers in grades 4-12.  As archers grow and develop different archery interests, we will introduce more advanced aspects of archery such as using sights and releases, using compound bows, making and maintaining equipment, and participating in 3D and field archery. Club members will also have the option of participating in regional and state 4-H Shooting Sports competitions.

Curriculum

4-H Shooting Sports is built on the fundamental principles of safety, discipline, and respect. The archery curriculum progressively covers safety, shooting form, shooting styles, equipment, and maintenance. The depth and type of information presented considers club goals and individual interests and abilities. Advanced topics such as making arrows, making bowstrings, and bow tuning and maintenance may be offered depending on the interest of club members.
