Botao Feng ( IEEE Senior Member/IET Member) was born in Guangdong, China, in 1980. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Communication and Information Systems from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), Chongqing, China, in 2004 and 2009, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in the same field from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), Beijing, China, in 2015. Dr. Feng began his professional career in 2004 as a Communication Engineer at Nokia Mobile Phones Ltd. in Dongguan, China. From 2009 to 2012, he advanced to the roles of Senior Engineer and Chief Executive at China United Network Communications Company Ltd. in Guangzhou, China, where he was honored with the Breakout Star of the Year Award and the title of Technical Innovation Expert.

Currently, Dr. Feng serves as the Head and Supervisor of graduate and overseas doctoral students at the Shenzhen University Key Laboratory of Wireless Communication, Antennas, and Propagation. This laboratory boasts over 70 research members and is equipped with comprehensive industry-university-research facilities in the fields of antennas and communications. It is also a founding member of the State Key Laboratory of Radio Frequency Heterogeneous Integration at Shenzhen University. Additionally, Dr. Feng is the President of Shenzhen Bodasheng and Taobida Technology Company Ltd. in Shenzhen, China. Since 2020, he has been a Distinguished Senior Research Fellow at the Energy Materials Telecommunications Research Centre, Institut National De La Recherche Scientifique (INRS), Quebec City, QC, Canada, and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Huizhou University, Huizhou, China, since 2022. His research primarily focuses on antennas and mobile communications. Dr. Feng and his research team are currently engaged in multiple projects on antenna development for advanced mobile communications, supported by natural science research funds and industrial cooperation research and development funds. Several of his antenna designs for 5G/WiFi applications have been widely adopted by Chinese communication operators, with an estimated total production value of around 2 billion Ren Min Bi (RMB).  It is worth noting that Prof. Botao Feng's team, along with their partner companies, has created more than 5,000 job opportunities in the industry since 2017. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 technical articles, including over 60 Science-Citation-Index (SCI) and 190 Engineering-Index (EI) articles, with about a third of them published in top-tier journals. He also holds more than 80 technical patents. In recent years, Dr. Feng has received the Outstanding Instructor of the First Prize in the National Graduate Electronic Contest and the Tencent Outstanding Teacher Award. Since 2021, he has been a successive recipient of "World's Top 2% Scientists'' (released by Stanford University and Elsevier).

Dr. Feng is a Senior Member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society and the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, and also a IET Member. He serves as a Regular Peer Reviewer, Technical Program Committee Chair, General Chair, and Editor for various IEEE/IET, Elsevier, Wiley, and Springer journals and conferences on microwave techniques and antenna development. Additionally, he holds several advisory roles, including Senior Expert at the Degree and Graduate Education Center of the Chinese Ministry of Education, Natural Science Foundation Committee of Guangdong Province/Zhejiang Province, Digital Government Expert Resource Pool of Guangdong Province, Information and Communication Technologies Senior Title Evaluation Committee of Guangdong Province, University Achievement Transformation Center of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Bureau, Electronic Communication Senior Title Evaluation Committee of Shenzhen City, Science and Technology Expert Database of Shenzhen City, Science and Technology Innovation Bureau of Shenzhen City, and Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen City, among others.
