Dr. Banabithi Bose is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Science, Health, and Pharmacy at Roosevelt University. She earned her Ph.D. in Computational Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (Bioinformatics) from Marquette University, where she trained under leading computational biologist and computer scientist Dr. Serdar Bozdag. She subsequently completed postdoctoral training with internationally recognized human geneticist Dr. Barbara E. Stranger at Northwestern University and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she developed computational methods for large-scale genomic studies and precision medicine. Her research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computational biology, and human genetics, with the goal of transforming large-scale biomedical data into clinically actionable discoveries.
Dr. Bose's research program develops AI-driven computational methods and open-source software to integrate genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic, single-cell, and clinical data for precision medicine. Her laboratory combines machine learning, network science, statistical genomics, and multimodal data integration to uncover disease mechanisms, identify therapeutic vulnerabilities, predict treatment response, and discover clinically actionable biomarkers. Current research focuses on cancer genomics, pharmacogenomics, and sex differences in disease biology, while the computational frameworks developed in her laboratory are broadly applicable across diverse complex diseases.
Dr. Bose is committed to building an interdisciplinary research environment where advances in artificial intelligence accelerate biological discovery and improve human health. Her laboratory welcomes students from biology, biomedical sciences, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, and data science who are interested in developing the next generation of AI-enabled technologies for biomedical research and precision healthcare.
