I am researcher and business specialist with a balanced academic and industry internationally-gained experience in Economics and Management of Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Strategic Management. I rely on quantitative methods and data, coupled with engineering and business understanding, to draw implications for both practitioners and policy makers.
I hold a position as a core faculty at the School of Management, Politecnico di Milano (Italy). I was also a visiting scholar at the School of Business of the University of Hong Kong in 2014. My research work has appeared in Technovation, Small Business Economics, Business Strategy and the Environment, Energy Policy, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, among others, and has been presented at leading academic and applied conferences such as DRUID Conferences (New York, Rome, Copenhagen), SPRU Conference (Brighton), IAEE Conferences (Rome, Dusseldorf), INBAM Conference (Barcelona), ENTFIN Conference (Lyon), UNCTAD and ITU Expert Meetings (Geneva), etc. My teaching curriculum consists of topics like innovation management, entrepreneurship, strategy, industrial policy and industrial organisation, at both graduate and MBA levels.
I have also been acting as a consultant within startup communities, both in developed and emerging countries. In particular, in the last five years I have worked on green-tech companies across Europe, high-tech startups in the MENA region (in collaboration with UNCTAD and ITU), and venture capital firms and their startup portfolio in Hong Kong. Prior to my academic career, I was engaged with an R&D department of a world-leading semiconductor company (ASML), based in Connecticut (US).
I hold PhD in Innovation and Technology Management from Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), MSc in Systems and Control from Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands) and BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Novi Sad (Serbia). I am fluent in English and Serbian, and possess operational levels of German and Italian.
