Hello! I am Borhan Uddin Chowdhury.
PhD Student, Clemson University
I am a PhD student at Clemson University with research interests in data-driven engineering design. I am interested in connecting artificial intelligence (AI), computer-aided design (CAD), and computational modeling to predict engineering performance, explore design alternatives, and support informed design decisions.
I earned my MS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas State University in 2026, where my research focused on the dynamics of auxetic metastructured beams. Alongside my computational mechanics background, I have hands-on experience applying AI techniques to engineering problems. I aim to build on these skills through my doctoral research in data-driven design.
My background includes over eight years of engineering experience, including work as a Lead Turbine Control Engineer at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. My time in industry shapes how I approach research and keeps me connected to practical engineering challenges.
Throughout my studies, I’ve used Ansys for undergraduate research, Abaqus in graduate finite element analysis coursework, and COMSOL Multiphysics to study the behavior of metastructured beams.
