Boreal Discovery is a vendor with Cyberlynx, IDEA, FOCUS, and Raven.
If you are part of another homeschool program and are interested in BD services, please let me know and I will work to become a vendor!
I am in the process of becoming a vendor with BEST.
In Work Session, I can work with kids on any general Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies topics. If they are working on an obscure topic, please get in contact with me so I know what to expect. All students need to do is bring their required materials, and we will get to work.
My work session classes are geared toward students who are struggling with time management, or just need a helping hand to get through a topic. I want to be clear, this is not one on one tutoring. There will be other students joining to work on their classes as well.
This is a 2 hour session. Students can come and go with what works with their schedule. I will be charging by the hour. If you have any questions, please give me a call/text/email. Work sessions will need to be paid by families, but are eligible for reimbursement. I will not be charging allotments.

I have had multiple families approach me asking for this class, and I'm excited to be able to offer it! I love teaching kids how to cook! We will be making simple, one pot, budget friendly meals to help kids gain independence and confidence in the kitchen. I will provide all materials and ingredients. After cooking, we will enjoy a quick meal together before we clean up.
Our Goals:
Learn to cook!
Practice mild math for doubling, tripling, or quadrupling recipes.
Learn safety temperatures for cooking meats.
Try to not make a giant mess while we cook, so clean up is easy.
Clean as we go, so cooking isn't so overwhelming.
Registration for this class is required. I need to ensure that I have enough supplies and food for all students. Maximum of 6 students per class.
Do you have a reluctant math student? Do they love art? Let me help them find how the two work beautifully together. Each week we will focus on a new math skill and apply it to a different art project. We will explore different mediums, utilize a variety of math tools, and learn that math doesn't always have to be uncomfortable.
This class is open to ALL math ability levels, and ALL art skill levels. I can teach new skills and have other practice mastered skills with a new twist. If we finish projects early, we will play games to practice skills and grease that math brain!
If your student is struggling with a specific concept, please let me know and I can tailor the class to their needs. I also offer small group tutoring sessions!

They could come back if you want them. Please reach out if any of these interest you,

Each week students will be welcomed being immersed in our focus country. We will be listening to music from this country, doing introductory activities, and perusing books. Then, we start our cooking for the day. When cooking is done, we will share a meal and discuss different customs from the area we are studying. After lunchtime clean up, we will move into a project based on our focus country. This can be a mapping project, art project, history lesson, or travel planning session (all these will be hands-on, student directed, creative activities). We will end the day with a discussion of where we would like to visit if we were able to travel to our focus country. At the end of each session, students will have a take home treasure to share with their families to show off their culinary skills. I will also be providing extension activities for students to work on at home if they so choose.
