The Choir is based in Whitchurch in North Shropshire and meets on Monday evenings in school term time from 8pm until 10pm. The Choir performs widely throughout the region and has performed as far afield as Birmingham, Lichfield, Chester and Liverpool.
The following sections provide some information about membership enquiries, and how to go about booking the choir for a concert, or other events.
Membership
We welcome enquiries from experienced singers thinking of joining us. Please note that as a chamber choir the Border Singers is unlikely to suit those with limited experience of ensemble singing. As a chamber group membership is limited so that we achieve a balanced sound.

Concerts
We are happy to receive enquiries from churches, charities and other groups seeking to organise a concert or other event at which they would like our participation. In general, the choir’s diary is booked about 12 months ahead. Depending on the nature of the event, there may be some flexibility, particularly if we are performing items from repertoire, or if it aligns with a similar event we are already planning.

Guidance for event planning
If you have an event at which you would like to choir to perform, please get in touch as soon as possible and we will be happy to discuss it with you. Please note that unless drawn from core choir repertoire, new major concert items usually require a full choir term to rehearse, so advance planning is essential (not least because of the need to arrange to hire music). As a general guideline, major concerts are planned 12 – 18 months ahead.
Plenty of notice is especially necessary if soloists or instrumentalists need to be booked.
