"Beneath the iron sky
Mexican children kick their soccer ball across
run after it, entering the U.S.
I press my hand to the steel curtain-
chainlink fence crowned with rolled barbwire...
1,950 mile-long open wound..."

Were you aware of the policies that are in talks about being put into place?
"I had known about some of it, especially the stuff regarding deportation and the borders between the U.S and Mexico. Being an immigrant, things like this are terrifying because you aren't sure what exactly can or will happen to myself or my family." "Not only am I an immigrant, I am also a woman and gay so I kinda got f*cked in almost all categories." "Being in a country that you know hates everything about you is one of the most awful things you can feel."
-N
Did you feel the results of the election would directly affect you?
"Both yes and no. I knew that being gay and Mexican that some of my rights would be taken away. However I do acknowledge the fact that I am a man so I will not have to face the same worries that my female friends would and do."
