Border City Coding is a locally run, educator-led program offering fun, creative, and accessible coding experiences for children and youth in the Lloydminster area. Our programs focus on helping students build confidence with technology while developing problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
We believe learning to code should feel engaging, supportive, and approachable — whether a child is brand new to technology or ready to take their skills further.
At Border City Coding, students learn by doing. Programs are built around hands-on projects using tools like Scratch, Minecraft Education, and emerging technologies such as 3D printing.
Rather than focusing on memorization or rigid instruction, we emphasize:
Creative problem-solving
Collaboration and communication
Logical thinking and perseverance
Learning through exploration and iteration
Students are guided and supported, while still being encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, and try new ideas.
Border City Coding programs are designed for students in Grades 4–8 and are welcoming to beginners as well as returning coders. No prior coding experience is required for most programs.
Our small group sizes allow for individualized support, helping students feel comfortable, confident, and successful — regardless of their starting point.
