New York in 1929 pulses with a dazzling mix of ambition, glamour, and restless energy. Jazz spills from speakeasies, skyscrapers stretched ever higher, and the city thrums with optimism as it embraces modernity. Wall Street symbolizes both the thrill and the peril of the era, drawing in dreamers chasing fortune. It is a singular moment suspended between exuberance and uncertainty—just before everything changes.
BOOM CRASH LOVE focuses on two seemingly opposite couples navigating ambition and romance amidst the 1929 stock market crash. Daniel, a slick stockbroker, meets EveLynn, a quirky artist, but their relationship stalls when Daniel loses his job and fortune after the market collapses. Simultaneously, Greta, a sparkling nightclub singer, and her devoted accompanist Nick pursue career advancement, leading to Greta signing a recording contract with a strict morality clause that prompts a fake engagement with Nick, even as they both realize their true romantic interests lie elsewhere: Nick with Daniel, and Greta with EveLynn. As the economic fallout threatens the existence of their favorite venue, the Crook and Nanny, the four protagonists wrestle with societal expectations and personal aspirations. Ultimately, in a surprise twist orchestrated by EveLynn's generous inheritance, the nightclub is saved, allowing Daniel a new start as a bartender, and Greta and Nick a permanent performance home, while the characters embrace their true, "modernistic" pairings just as the Great Depression begins.
