Welcome to my world of whimsical illustration!!
Hello and thank you for stopping by! My name is Lucy and I’m a watercolour artist with a passion for painting magical moments, fantastical creatures, and charming scenes that spark the imagination. Whether it's a curious dragon in a teacup or a sleepy fox curled up beneath a glowing mushroom, my art is inspired by the wonder of childhood stories and the gentle magic of nature. I love creating illustrations that bring joy to little readers and dreamers of all ages — perfect for children’s books, prints, and playful projects.
Take a look around and let your imagination wander!
I live in Northumberland and I'm a self taught artist. For as long as I can remember art has always been a part of my life. My Gramps was an artist who specialised in watercolours and pastels and spent many hours teaching me different techniques for pencil portraiture and landscape painting in his summerhouse.
From then on I had a keen interest in all things arty and whilst I cultivated that interest I also fell in love with books and all things magical and fantasy. The first book I read that completely sucked me in was The Far Away Tree by Enid Blyton, it had me hooked from chapter one and ignited in me a love for reading and fantasy that has remained with me to this day.
So in short I've been, reading and adventuring like a true Bilbo Baggins all my life but it wasn't until 2022 that I decided to be a little bit brave and I began my journey as an artist and illustrator.
My art is inspired by the books that I read, the other worlds that fall from their pages and the journeys that a good book can take you on. I love to experiment in different mediums but I mostly work in watercolour and in digital art.
One of my favourite things to work on are book illustrations. As an illustrator I absolutely adore bringing an author's words to life. I'm currently working on my own children's book and you can follow that journey on my socials below.
