Whether its a full childrens book with cover and double page spreads or just chapter headings and POV art I can help to realise the ideas in your head and bring them into reality.

I specialise in whimsical, hand-painted and digital artwork for children’s books, fantasy-themed stories, and imaginative projects. I work closely with authors, publishers, and creatives to bring unique characters and magical worlds to life through delicate detail and playful charm.

I have worked on adult fantasy books. YA books developing character art and childrens picture books. Below are some examples of my work.

I worked digitally for the character design but spent some time honing my skills to use the watercolour brushes within procreate. The final book was done traditionally using watercolour.

Your front cover is a really important element to your book as it is the first thing that any potential reader will see. I work closely with authors to ensure that the font and image encapsulates the tone of the book

Front Cover

A front cover needs to be eye catching and has to draw a reader in. I like to use bold colours against an airy backdrop.

Double Page Spread

When illustrating double page spreads I think its important to incorporate negative space to allow the text to be legible.

Isolations

Even though isolated illustions are just moments from a story you I still like to try and capture continuity.

Obviously character illustrations are key in any children's book but I also feel that landscape work, backgrounds and world building are also incredibly important to set the tone of the book. Below are some of my dwelling illustrations from my own book.

Here is an example of some chapter headings I worked on for Cherie Lynae Suski. This was a trilogy called The Armageddon Trilogy. These were digitally created in procreate and only in black and white as the trilogy was and adult fantasy series.

Watercolour

I love using a combination of watercolour, coloured pencils and inks to create detailed worlds and whimsical characters

Character Illustration

I work really hard to create characters based on author descriptions or in this case photos of who the characters are based on.

Digital Illustration

Whilst its not the same as using watercolours, digital art can be an easier option for authors to send to print. I have spent time perfecting my digital art skills so that they maintain a whimsical and watercolour feel to them.
