Fresh Garden Salsa

A fresh, chunky salsa made with garden ingredients! Great as a dip with chips!
Ingredients
1 medium tomato, diced
2 tablespoons white or red onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon fresh basil or cilantro, chopped
1 tablespoons lime juice (or lemon juice)
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch black pepper
Steps
1. Chop the tomato: Dice 1 medium tomato, diced into small chunks. The smaller the pieces, the better it scoops with chips!
2. Chop onion & garlic: Finely chop 2 tbsp white or red onion, finely chopped and 1 garlic clove, minced. Tip: the finer you chop, the milder the flavor!
3. Mix everything together: Combine 1 medium tomato, diced, 2 tbsp white or red onion, finely chopped, 1 garlic clove, minced, and 1 tbsp fresh basil or cilantro, chopped in a small bowl.
4. Season & taste: Add 1 tsp lime juice (or lemon juice), 1 pinch salt, and 1 pinch black pepper. Stir well and taste. Adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
5. Pack: Store in a small jar or zip-lock bag to take home!
Notes
Use fresh onion, garlic, and basil straight from your school garden!
Want it spicy? Add a small pinch of red pepper flakes.
Store in a small jar or zip-lock bag. Keeps in the fridge for up to 3 days.
