Our PTA is governed by a set of Bylaws. The Bylaws are active for 3 years, then need to be reviewed and changed as necessary. They are approved by the PTA membership, and submitted for renewal with Utah PTA. Our current Bylaws expire September 1st, 2026 and can be read HERE.

When you make a purchase for a PTA activity or event, you need to be reimbursed. Room parent expenditures apply to this as well.
Submit the PTA Check Request Form if you are in need of reimbursement for PTA expenses. The completed form can be put in the PTA folder in the main office at the school, the PTA box in the work room, or given directly to Laurel Keller (PTA Treasurer). There are also pre-printed copies of this form in the office or yellow PTA folder in our mailbox in the work room. You can also print your own from home HERE - "PTA CHECK REQUEST FORM 24-25".
Please note that all expenses must be within the approved budget by the general PTA membership. If you are not sure what your event/activity budget is, please contact Laurel Keller at BonnevillePTAorem@gmail.com. All requests MUST be accompanied by a printed receipt that includes ONLY the PTA expenses to be reimbursed. Do not make purchases for the PTA along with personal purchases. This makes it makes it difficult to be reimbursed for our sales tax at the end of the fiscal year. (*PTA is a tax exempt entity.)
Procedure books are put together for each program chair. If you are a program chair and do not have access to the google drive with information pertinent to the program you are helping coordinate, please let us know by emailing BonnevillePTAorem@gmail.com.
A new PTA budget is proposed annually to the executive committee by the PTA treasurer. The executive committee discusses and refines the budget. It is then put to a vote of approval to the general PTA membership by October 1. Any amendments to the budget after approval must be reviewed and voted upon by the executive committee.

The PTA completes an Annual Financial Reconciliation (AFR) before June 30th of that fiscal year. The AFR is completed by local members of the PTA that are not signers on the PTA's bank account. They look for and check the accuracy of the last audit report, the year-end financial statement with monthly treasure's reports, check register, funds received forms, check request form, copies of signed meeting minutes, among many other things. Once the AFR is accurate and complete, it is submitted to MemberHub or the Council/Region Treasurer. Full AFR records are kept for 10 years. There are certain items from the AFRs that are kept in our permanent records.
