TEACHING ACTIVITIES AND SUPERVISION

• 2025–present – Co-supervisor of PhD student (University of Manchester). 

• 2025 (26 March) – Lab Tour Facilitator – Volcanology Research Group laboratory at The University of Manchester. Led a guided tour for undergraduate students, showcasing high-pressure, high-temperature experimental apparatus used to simulate volcanic systems. Explained key research methods for studying pre-eruptive and eruptive volcanic processes, including real-time observation through advanced synchrotron imaging. Highlighted how this cutting-edge research contributes to volcanic hazard mitigation and community protection.  

• 2025 (23 March) - Tree Planting Staff Assistant – Seeds of Hope and Action Exhibition, University of Manchester.  Assisted in facilitating a student-led tree planting activity in the Peak District as part of the Seeds of Hope and Action Exhibition. Supported experiential learning around sustainability and environmental stewardship in alignment with the University’s Ethical Grand Challenges program.

The project proposal 101061511, CHALCOSCAN: “CHALCophile element behaviOr during melting of the Earth'S mantle and differentiation proCesses of the resultANt magmas”, Submitted with the University of Oxford under the Horizon 2021 Marie Skłodowska Curie actions call HORIZON-MSCA-2021-PF-01 was scored as a high quality project proposal in a highly competitive evaluation process, with a total score of 93%. This proposal is recommended for funding by other sources since Horizon 2021 resources available for this specific Call were already allocated following a competitive ranking.

• 2022 - Award for the best doctoral thesis by Associazione Italiana di Vulcanologia (AIV)

Assignment of a prize to the best Ph.D. thesis on topics related to Volcanology by Associazione Italiana di Vulcanologia. The amount of the prize is €500 (ex aequo).
