Principal's Report

It would appear the first edition of our electronic newsletter was well received by our school community. We have been provided with great feedback with all comments positive at present. Please let us know if there is anywhere we can improve. We can then make the necessary changes to keep the newsletter relevant to all of our stakeholders.

We continue to persevere with the software provided to us by the Department of Education in relation to student wellbeing, timetabling, reports and attendance. This is having a negative impact on our timelines, in particular in relation to reports and when they will be ready for students and their parents. We will do our best to meet the current deadlines however I offer our apologies in advance for any deadlines that are missed. We are moving across to the new system in stages, however we hope to be fully operational by Term 3. I once again thank you sincerely for the patience you have shown throughout this transition.

Emails have now been sent to parents to assist in planning your children’s parent teacher interviews. Once again, the feedback that we have received has been overwhelmingly positive, however if there are any areas of improvement that you have identified please contact us so we can address them promptly. There is still the option of utilising a paper booking sheet and they are available at the front office. Please call the school if you need assistance with any aspect of the booking process.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Bomaderry High School P&C, along with Manildra, who combined with our teaching and canteen staff to provide a wonderful breakfast for our Year 7 and Year 9 students who sat their NAPLAN tests this week. It certainly assisted students in easing any nerves whilst also ensuring they had plenty of energy to remain focused throughout. Coordinating teachers have reported how well behaved and engaged the students were across the three days, which the students should be commended for. Well done to everyone involved!!

I hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and don’t forget they are only published once a fortnight.

Mr I Morris

deputy principal's Report

What a great start to the term for the deputy team! We have been very impressed with the standard of behaviour and courteous manners displayed by the students around the school and don’t the new yr 11 jerseys look terrific? The deputies will be concentrating our efforts in the coming weeks on correct full school uniform and the correct use of electronic devices. No electronic devices should be used in break times and all phones must be lodged with the front office each morning. Please make sure that full school uniform is worn every day. In addition, on Thursdays, students can wear school based representative jumpers. If, for any reason, a student cannot wear their full uniform, then students must:

1. Bring a signed parental note.

2. See a deputy principal to get a uniform pass for the day.

Unfortunately, we have had some technical issues with the department reports system and, as such, the school reports will be out a little bit later than originally planned. We are working to solve the problems and are hoping to sort out all the issues in the coming weeks. The priority order will be for year 12, followed by year 11. If you have any questions regarding the senior reports then please contact the school. See you at the parent teacher night.
