OUR COMMUNITY

Boltdog Boosters raise money to support activities that loosely fall into five categories: events, student support, faculty support, environment and community engagement.

Events

The Events Committee plans and hosts educational, social, community-building, and fundraising events through the year. You'll find dates for current events on the calendar on our home page.

The 2023-2024 Events Committee Co-Chairs are Anna Stayer and Brooke Stage. Contact Anna to get involved

STUDENT SUPPORT

The Student Support Committee works closely with school administrators to provide materials, programs, and activities that extend and support students' learning experiences. This includes extracurricular activities such as clubs and athletics as well support for studio classes (media, art, music, and movement) and Reggio-inspired projects.

The 2023-2024 Student Support Committee Chair is Chris Hartley. Contact Chris to get involved

LEAD A CLUB!

Student Support is actively looking for organizations or individuals interested in leading a club before or after-school. Would you or someone you know be interested in helping co-advise our yearbook staff? Students have asked for running club, but leaders are needed. What hobbies or expertise do you have that you could share during a 6-week or 8-week session?

FACULTY SUPPORT

The Faculty Support Committee helps maintain staff morale and may support faculty enrichment and growth opportunities that ultimately benefit students. This might include, but is not limited to, staff appreciation activities (including bus drivers and non-teaching staff), facilitating connections for Reggio-inspired project work, or support for unique professional development activities.

The 2023-2024 Faculty Support Committee Co-Chairs are Emilly Falls / Becky Schwantes-An. Contact Emily to get involved.

Watch for stock-the-lounge and other staff appreciation opportunities in the school newsletter or private family Facebook Group.

ENVIRONMENT

The Environment Committee collaborates with school administration to maintain and improve physical spaces both indoors and outdoors.  We also have this committee to thank for major improvements to pedestrian and bike safety along busy 54th Street, including crosswalks, school zone signals, and traffic control.

ONE SUCCESS STORY

Early this fall our school is getting an outdoor classroom courtesy of Corteva. This exciting opportunity was made possible through connections forged by a parent volunteering on our Environment Committee. We love sharing this story as an example of the ways in which family engagement can pay off. Families are often surprised to discover the ways in which their personal or professional connections can support school goals—.and make big dreams possible!

Watch for announcements in the school newsletter or private family Facebook Group about outdoor clean-up days and other opportunities to keep school grounds functional and beautiful.

COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT

The Community Enrichment Committee works to facilitate engagement within our school community as well as the larger local community. Inclusion, recruitment, and relationship building are all part of these efforts.
