Trondheim Community Mindfulness is a weekly meeting community and group for anyone who has an interest and curiosity with the theme of sustainable personal development. Our group is unique in Trondheim in that there is no specific guiding teacher and no specific technique - it's all your choice. We all meet as equals to question, share, and inspire each other to explore the open awareness we most deeply are. We give ourselves the opportunity to explore present awareness through basic observations. It is possible to then monitor how this feels, day-to-day, and how it gradually creates changes our behaviors, and the quality of our lives, for the better. We can cultivate and promote a growing awareness through various types of practices, and even simply through conversations and friendships with like-minded people. Even if you have never tried any kind of meditation/mindfulness practices before, or if you feel like you tried but don't understand it - this would be a welcoming community for you to explore. If you already have practices, this would still be a relevant space to gain refreshed perspectives and inspiration. If you are already a teacher/coach: all the more reason to participate here - maybe you can meet some new people interested in what you have to share...
We gather weekly and have a quiet sit, in chairs or cushions, and combine this with mindful conversations. Here, you can meet other people interested in personal development and everything else that may go along with it. Discover new resources such as other groups, teachers, internet resources, books, retreats, courses, techniques, etc. Essentially, these are open source, in-person gatherings where we have the chance to learn from each others' company and experiences. You can also simply remain quiet and observe, gaining synergy to fortify your own practice. Often, people find it balancing and effective to combine solo practice with some days of sitting and practicing or talking with others about it. More practical details: We usually sit quietly for around 30~40 minutes (to be decided by all of those present), followed by a friendly chat with tea (and sometimes fresh bread) where everyone leaves at their own time. The silent sitting can be introduced with some instructions or "best practice" suggestions in the beginning. Sitting posture is relaxed, there will also be comfortable chairs.
