Head Coach, Craig Quarterman

Craig brings a blend of experience, dedication, and passion to the high school swim team. A former collegiate swimmer he excelled in the pool, earning recognition for his commitment and skill. Competitive swimming has been part of his life from a very younge age which allows him to bring a strategic approach to training and equips him with the ability to mentor and inspire young athletes.

In addition to his coaching role, Craig is a devoted family man, proudly raising 2 daughters with his wife Emily. Balancing his family life and professional responsibilities, he understands the importance of fostering both athletic and personal development in his swimmers. His approach emphasizes hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship, creating a supportive and motivating environment for student-athletes.

Craig is excited for a fun high school swimming season and looks forward to working with the team to achieve new milestones, set personal records, and build a strong sense of team camaraderie.

Assistant Coach Jim Byrne

Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He learned to swim at Gamble Nippert YMCA and joined the swim team at age 6 and qualified for Y Nationals at the age of 13.    Jim attended St. Xavier High School and swam on the varsity team all four years.  St. Xavier has won 37 of the last 46 Ohio High School State Swimming championships.   He also swam for the USS swim club - The Cincinnati Marlins- during his high school and college years.  He graduated from University of Notre Dame, swam all four years for the University and was captain of the team his senior year.   Boise has been his home for the past 12 years.  Jim has two sons: Nicholas and JJ, both tennis players.  He volunteered to help his Sawtooth Masters swimming lane-mate, Jeff Erwin, coach the Boise High Swim team - what an amazing group of kids and an incredible experience.  He is looking forward to another successful season for each and every member of the team.
