History
The USSVI Boise Base was chartered in May, 2001. The base membership has included a very interesting and wide ranging demographic. Membership has included WWII submarine sailors, USS Nautilus crewmen, being both officers and enlisted. Some of our members have qualified on diesel boats, while a growing number started on nuclear vessels. We have both "coners" and "nukes", and "boomers" and "fast attack" sailors. This leads to great sharing and a variety of stories.

Boise Base Parade Float
This is the Boise Base parade float. It was constructed in 2004 by former base commander Edgar Carlson. The submarine body is from a F-111 drop tank. It has a dive alarm installed, which is always a hit with the kids and kids-at-heart.
