Always something NEW!
In Culinary Arts, students learn much more than how to follow a recipe! Through hands-on cooking and baking experiences, students explore kitchen safety, sanitation, nutrition, food science, knife skills, cooking techniques, and food presentation. Each project gives students the opportunity to practice their skills while creating delicious food.
Students also learn important real-world skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, creativity, problem-solving, and professionalism. From preparing meals and desserts to designing menus and running a student café, students experience what it’s like to work in a professional culinary environment.
Most importantly, Culinary Arts is a place where students can be creative, try new things, build confidence, and discover a passion for food. We cook, we create, we learn—and we have a lot of fun along the way!
Work - Based Learning
The Wildcat Bites Café is a student-run café where Culinary Arts students get to put their classroom skills into action! Students help plan menus, prepare food and drinks, practice customer service, and work together to create a welcoming experience for our school staff.
The café gives students a real-world opportunity to develop valuable skills in communication, teamwork, organization, time management, food safety, and professionalism. From brewing coffee and creating specialty drinks to preparing breakfast and lunch items, students take pride in serving delicious food made right here on campus.
Wildcat Bites Café is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat—it’s a hands-on learning experience that helps students build confidence, responsibility, and skills they can use far beyond the classroom. Made by students...served with pride...enjoyed by all!
FCCLA
FAMILY CAREER COMMUNITY LEADERS OF AMERICA
FCCLA is a national "Career and Technical Student Organization" that gives students the opportunity to take the skills they learn in Culinary Arts and use them beyond the classroom. Through hands-on projects, leadership opportunities, community service, competitions, and career-focused activities, students develop confidence and skills that prepare them for their futures.
Our students have the chance to compete in events, create meaningful projects, attend conferences, serve their community, and work together as a team. FCCLA encourages students to step outside their comfort zones, discover their strengths, and develop leadership, communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Most importantly, FCCLA helps students connect what they are learning in the classroom to real-world experiences while building friendships, memories, and a strong sense of Wildcat pride. The best part is, every student in the Culinary Arts class is a member! So join in the fun and see what new skill you might discover!
