Chris Lewer is an international holistic chef, who specializes in plant-based cooking and living. Chris started his career as a chef in 2001 when he managed and ran an Italian based restaurant in New Jersey. He later went on to own two flourishing Italian restaurants in the local New Jersey area where he curated his own holistic recipes that became some of the town's favorite dishes. Chris has cooked internationally throughout Europe, India, Asia and the United States.
In 2016, Chris ventured to North India to get his certification in Ayurvedic Cooking and Nutrition in pursuit of his interest in learning the holistic healing ways of Ayurvedic medicine. He later ventured south to Kerala, India to learn from one of South India's top chefs, Chef Benny (pictured above).
His interests later took him to Indonesian where he learned the Indonesian ways of cooking and healing. He took a number of cooking courses for healthy eating but was most fascinated by Indonesia's herbal secrets in creating herbal elixirs. It is here where Chris fell in love with the healing properties of herbs.
This past year Chris and his family were involved in a near fatal car accident that left them with a multitude of injuries. It is from these injuries that Chris has realized the phenomenal power of healing herbs. Chris is now working on creating his own health elixirs to bring these elixirs that brought his family relief to North America.
From the benefits Chris and Ashley have noticed from his herbal elixirs birthed a desire to pursue a herbology certification in Belize, where Chris will be forging naturally occurring healing herbs in the amazon rainforest.
