There is one application for students applying to a Gies Global semester study abroad program. You will be matched with a program of best fit. You are able to list your location preferences on your application. Click the button above to start an application.

Information:

You will receive an e-mail from Bocconi with the application instructions and your user ID and password to access the application system. Fall participants will receive this email in mid-late May and spring participants will receive this email in mid-late October. Nominations are made in early-mid March for fall participants and early October for spring participants. You should complete the application as soon as possible because your housing application is attached to the application. Housing is available on a first-come-first-served basis and is NOT guaranteed.

After submitting your application, your acceptance letter will be generated. You may download and print it directly from your application account.

Bocconi Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in the College of Business when applying

• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0

• Completed at least one year of course work on the UIUC campus (or one semester for off campus transfer students)

• Strongly recommended that students in their last semester not participate because graduation will be delayed.

Deadline:

• Fall Semester: February 1st 

• If applying for both Fall and Spring options on application: February 1st

• Spring Semester :

  • Spring only (Early Access): February 1st

  • Additional rounds: June 15th and September 1st

  • Any remaining spots for Spring programs after the February 1st deadline will be open for the June 15th deadline. If available, they will also be open for the September 1st deadline.

• Note: Study abroad slots for each location are given out first in the Fall. Any remaining slots will be given in the Spring semester. If location is your top priority, we recommend applying for the Fall semester.
