Students were tasked to find a painting that they could 'put' themselves into, perhaps changing the genders, ethnicities or ages of the original people depicted to offer a more contemporary statement. First they studied the painting by doing a formal analysis of the elements and design principles used. Lighting and composition were a key factor in reproducing the artworks successfully. Their results were stellar, and featured in the Beloit Daily News in June.
