Blu is a queer, grassroots cultural worker, multidisciplinary artist, and performer based in the DMV area. Through their performance and movements, Blu explores what it means to move freely, to cultivate connections with others, and find moments of liberation in a restrictive and oppressive world.
Blu first took pole classes when they were in Vietnam in 2019, and started self-teaching when they get back to the U.S. shortly after. As Blu found all the twisty and funky ways to wrap themselves around the pole, Blu also found many healing ways to express themselves and exercise trust through movements.
As a healer, Blu emphasizes body awareness and breath alignment in their classes. They will get on your butt about proper body alignments, engagement, as well as all the key tips to finding your *own* way to twirl around the pole. Blu's classes are taught with a trauma-informed and person-centered approach, and are focused on building skills and awareness so that students can become independent learners.
