March 26th 2025 Single Release 'I am Love'
“I Am Love” which features Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, was written and recorded by youth enrolled in Camp Felix, a Road Recovery Road Trax program, as part of program partnership with The Felix Organization and The New York Foundling, and funded by a grant from ShineMaker Foundation. Camp Felix's youth participants, McDaniels and Creative Staff Mentors from our Road Trax Program assembled for a one-day all-in recording session at Threshold Recording Studios NYC in midtown Manhattan in late 2024. McDaniels mentored kids aged 6-19 in the vocal booth, assisting with lyrical delivery, cadence, and music production. Road Recovery staff mentors Static and Tom Dudley helped the kids turn a wall of affirmations into a powerful song about self-acceptance. The original song recording they collectively created, “I Am Love,” personifies the importance of love and creativity while navigating life’s uncertainties.
The track's release on March 26, 2025 is available through major digital music services at https://roadrecovery.ffm.to/iamlove including Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal and more. The release accompanies this promotional video of the recording process.
