Patrol Operations, or PATOPS, is responsible for the day to day street patrol in the city. PATOPS responds to calls, enforces traffic codes, and works proactively to stop crime before/as it happens. PATOPS is the backbone of the department. All Cadets must start in PATOPS and advance into other Subdivisions. Patrols are divided into Central and North. Central is responsible for patrolling the downtown area. North is responsible for patrolling the outer counties.
DB is responsible for overseeing the Detectives Squad and the Narcotics Squad.
A Canine (K9) officer is a law enforcement professional responsible for handling and deploying police canines. These highly trained dogs assist in tasks such as detecting drugs, pursuing and capturing suspects, and identifying explosives.
The SOB is responsible for overseeing the Emergency Services Unit, which is responsible for all SWAT and other special operations for the department. ESU operatives are highly trained, highly qualified individuals who serve and protect our citizens with the highest level of equipment, training, and command.
