What we do:

·  We seek opportunities to educate ourselves and other Blount Count residents about current environmental issues related to:

• • • Climate Change

    • Air Quality

    • Water Quality 

    • Loss of Biodiversity (-see Nurturing Nature section for more info )

    • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

    • Sustainable Communities and Smart Growth

    • Green Infrastructure

    • Food Choice

    • Clean Energy

    • National Parks (GSMNP) and Public Lands

·  We track federal, state and local legislative and policy actions that affect us locally and spread the word via the Huddle and LTE's. 

·  We collaborate with other environmental groups and encourage huddle member involvement in local environmental events (such as CCL, Wild Ones, Sierra Club, LRWA, KBB, Greenways Council, etc...)

·  We meet monthly as a working group to discuss current events.

·  We send out a weekly actions list (via the huddle email) with timely action items and alerts.

·  We respond to current news or events in the local paper via Letters to the Editor.
