Education
At Blooming Flowers Academy, we believe in fostering scholars natural interest and nurturing the growth of that interest; this is why we have a well-rounded curriculum to appeal to students of all talents, gifts, and abilities. Science, technology, enrichment, art, math and reading are the core subjects of Blooming Flowers Academy. Campers will be exposed to all elements throughout the duration of their camp experience. Math and reading will be a part of daily standard educational time (SEC: 30 minutes per subject- TEC: 45 minutes per subject). Science will be explored through projects and experiments. Technology, Art and Enrichments will be weekly and contracted with specialists in that specific field of study. Enrichments’ are special crafts that teach student’s additional skills outside of academia.
·
The main curriculum scholars will use is called IXL. IXL is a digital platform that is tailored to a students ability and sets a specific path for them to be successful. The core subjects are Math and Reading.
In addition, Teen Enrichment Camp will explore Bookworms where scholars will be assigned a book for a duration and take part in book club discussions.
Lastly, ClassDojo will be used to help with scholar accountability, responsibility and behavior. ClassDojo is an incentives/rewards points-based program that tracks behaviors. Positive points are given when a scholar follows/exceeds expectations and negative points are deducted when rules/expectations are not followed. At the end of each week, campers will have the opportunity to cash in their points and “shop” at the BFA-Reward Store.
