The primary objective of the Blood Money Campaign (BMC) is to cut off the Junta’s financial pillars in order to demolish the dictatorship. The campaign aims to disrupt the flow of foreign currency that directly contributes to the activities of the brutal military junta in Myanmar. A key focus of the BMC has been to target the revenue generated from the oil and gas sector with the intention of severing its financial lifeline from the Junta, or State Administration Council (SAC), which has been responsible for the oppression and violence against the people of Myanmar. The campaign also works based on business and human rights issues by targeting corporations, individuals, and governments that are affiliated with the junta’s atrocities. In pursuit of its objectives, the campaign has forged alliances with various local and international groups, leveraging the expertise and knowledge of academic, professional, and technical experts within this sector.
The BMC recognizes the importance of fostering robust connections between local and international stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and collaboration in the pursuit of peaceful resistance against the regime in Myanmar. By facilitating such partnerships, the campaign seeks to strengthen its capacity and impact, working tirelessly to dismantle oppressive military rule and bring about a more just and democratic future for the people of Myanmar.
