What BlockShield does
BlockShield is a focus and productivity app for Android. It lets you block websites, apps, and keywords that distract you, so you can get things done without constantly fighting your own phone.
Data we collect
Honestly, we collect nothing. BlockShield has no servers, no accounts, and no way to receive your data even if it wanted to. Everything the app touches stays on your phone.
Here's exactly what the app reads and why:
Your installed apps - read once so you can pick which apps to block. Never leaves your device.
App usage history - checked continuously to know when a blocked app opens. Never stored remotely or shared with anyone.
Your block list (websites, apps, keywords) - saved in the app's private on-device database. Never transmitted anywhere.
Block logs - stored locally so you can see your own stats. We never see them.
Permissions explained
Accessibility Service - this is how BlockShield reads your browser's address bar to catch blocked sites and keywords as you type. All detection happens on your device, instantly, with nothing sent anywhere.
Usage Stats - lets the app detect which app is open in the foreground, so it can block it the moment you open it.
Display over other apps - needed to show the block screen on top of whatever you were doing.
Device Admin (optional) - prevents BlockShield from being uninstalled while it's actively protecting you. You can turn this off anytime in Settings → Security → Device Admin Apps.
No accounts. No servers. No tracking.
There are no login screens because there are no accounts. There's no crash reporting, no analytics SDK, no third-party code phoning home. BlockShield works completely offline and always will.
Deleting your data
Uninstall the app and everything is gone. Or go to Settings → Apps → BlockShield → Clear Data if you want a fresh start without uninstalling.
Children's privacy
BlockShield is not aimed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect any information from them.
