Travel & Directions

Airports

There are 3 main airports serving the San Francisco Bay Area:

Please bear in mind travel times fluctuate widely with traffic conditions. SJC is the closest airport but SFO offers more options. Flying into OAK is not generally recommended for getting to Google unless it's the only option or you have other reasons to arrive on the other side of the Bay.

Note: There are no free shuttle services between the airports and Google, or the suggested hotels. Caltrain does provide a free campus shuttle service to Google from the Mountain View station.

The heavy-rail public transit and subway system connects San Francisco with the San Francisco airport (SFO), cities in the East Bay and suburbs in northern San Mateo County, however it does not run to Mountain View. In order to travel to Mountain View via public transportation, you'll need to take or connect to CalTrain.

CalTrain is a commuter rail line on the San Francisco Peninsula between San Francisco and San Jose. The Mountain View stop can be used to get to the Google Campus via a free connector bus service (http://mvgo.org/).

VTA (Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority)

VTA is a light rail service that connects San Jose and Mountain View. If staying in San Jose you can use it to arrive at the Mountain View station and take the MVGO shuttle to campus.

Parking at Google

Parking at Google is available. Attendees can use any space not marked for specific group (e.g. expectant mothers). However, availability of spaces will become limited later in the morning. Some street parking is also available. The areas marking the map below are most likely to have parking space.

Attendees who are driving to the event should also be aware that traffic to/from campus is typically heavy 8-11am and 3-7pm. Please allow enough time to reach your destination.
