FAQs

Where is Google? Where is the GTI?

Google has several locations throughout the Bay Area, but the main site is in Mountain View, CA. This is 35 miles SE of San Francisco and 15 mile NW of San Jose. We will be near the Google Visitor Center, in Building LMK2.

Does Google provide accommodation or travel support?

Attendees are responsible for all of their own travel costs, including the need for any overnight accommodation. We have provided a list of suggested nearby hotels but there are many other options. In the past attendees have self organized to share rooms or even played host to out of town guests (if they themselves live locally).

What airport should I use? How do I get to the Google Campus?

San Jose (SJC) is the closest airport. San Francisco (SFO) offers the most flight options. Oakland (OAK) is also possible but not recommended due to its distance from Mountain View. We have added airport and regional transportation information to the travel & directions page.

Can I bring my partner / children / friend / pet hamster?

Space is very limited at the event, and we are on an "active" work campus. Therefore, we cannot accept any walk-in, drop-in, or unconfirmed participants. This includes spouse, partners or dependents who want to just "see the Google campus". It may be possible to accommodate hamsters with enough warning.*

What devices should I bring?

This is a bring your own laptop/chromebook event, and it is highly recommended you bring a smartphone as well.

Power will be available in the main and breakout rooms. The "Google Guest" wifi is open for all visitors to campus.

Is there Parking available at Google?

Yes. Please see the Travel & Directions page
