Hi again,

Is the blockly visualisation what is generated in the code window which you can toggle from the blockly editor? Where do I find the actual corresponding javascript? And whereto do I copy it all?

Is there a simpler/safer way of copying the entire action/rule - i.e. duplicating without having to go into copying code text back and forth?

You can override the showEditor_ function on a blockly input - this works quite well with FieldTextInput. See for an example of an 'intercepted' click opening a jquery mobile dialog, that then fills in the text value. The text value is then retrieved by the javascript generator to load the selected file at 'runtime'.

All of these provide general functionality that is not specific to openHAB itself. If you want to learn more about how to use them, search for the many blockly tutorials that are available. However, to leverage the full capabilities more than 50 specific blocks have been provided that are tailored for easy access of openHAB's capabilities.

Even though you may not notice it directly, the blocks are eventually used to automatically create code that can run on the openHAB server. Please watch the video Blockly as an ECMA-Script code generator (opens new window) for a live demo. The code that is generated can be viewed when clicking the button on the lower right corner of the blockly editor.

Has anyone had a chance to do accessibility analysis or test on Accessible

BLockly?

Are we on the right track, way off-base, or how would you make Blockly

accessible?

Hello,

I am not sure there is enough functionality for me to say. I don't know the

point. It looks good to me and all accessible for a screen reader, but I

can't get anything working.

My idea is to use the applications key a lot more, then I can insert

variables into where they need to be.

Thanks,

(1) Are kids who useusing screen readers able to understand what's going

on, get started, and complete the levels?

(2) How hard is it to learn the blocks interface?

(3) How long do kids need to get used to the interface?

(4) What questions do they have?

(5) Do kids get frustrated? If so, what are the specific points of

frustration?
