The short version
- No accounts or sign-in required
- No analytics, no advertising SDKs, no third-party trackers
- We do not access or collect your device's real, real-time GPS location
- Your saved locations and photos stay on your device
- The only data that ever leaves your device is the coordinates you manually choose, sent to a weather provider so we can show you the forecast for that spot
What Blip does NOT do
Blip does not read, log, or transmit your device's actual GPS location. It has no way to know where you really are. Everything in the app is built around locations *you* explicitly search for or drop a pin on.
Information we process
**Locations you choose.** When you search for or drop a pin on a location, that coordinate is used locally to generate your location card. To show live weather and local time for that spot, the coordinates are sent to our weather provider ([Open-Meteo / WeatherKit]) — this request contains only the coordinate, never your identity, account, or real location.
**Saved locations.** Places you save stay in on-device storage. We never see them and they're never uploaded anywhere.
**Photos.** If you use the photo-stamp feature, Blip uses Apple's built-in photo picker, which only gives the app access to the single photo you actively select — not your whole library. The location stamp is applied on-device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share the result yourself.
**Purchases.** Subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your payment details — that's governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
**Diagnostics.** [If you use Apple's opt-in crash reporting: "We may receive anonymized crash reports through Apple's standard, opt-in diagnostics — this contains no personal information and you can disable it in iOS Settings at any time." If not: "We do not collect crash or diagnostic data of any kind."]
Children's privacy
Blip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at [privacy@yourdomain.com] and we'll address it.
Your rights
Because Blip doesn't store your data on our servers, there's rarely anything to request, export, or delete on our end — deleting the app removes everything. If you're in the EU/UK, Brazil (LGPD), California (CCPA), or another region with data-protection rights, and you still have a question about your data, contact us at [privacy@yourdomain.com] and we'll respond within [30] days.
International data
The only data transfer described above (weather-lookup coordinates) may be processed by servers outside your country. No personal identifiers are attached to that request.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app's release notes.
