Athleticism/Body Control
Impressive lateral quickness to cross the face of the defender and seal him from the play
Good body positioning. Always square to his man
Stiff athlete. Not a comfortable runner when pulling
Very slow footspeed
Balance wavers when forced to change direction and cover cross-face rush moves and stunts
Anchor/Play Strength
Good leg drive to move the IDL out of the run lane
Excellent base to neutralize his man and seal him from the play
Does well to stay upright in the drive phase to generate movement consistently
Excellent short-set anchor
Anchors the run lane well
Weaker upper body. Susceptible to push-pull moves
Pass Block
Smart blocker who is not fooled by stunts and twists. Good set depth to pass off the block
Rarely moved by power moves
Quick footwork to recover and shield his man from the backfield
Needs to get hands-on earlier. Can be thrown around a bit
Poor helping his teammates. Too often missing late penetration or tunnel vision on the wrong rusher
Awareness
Handles stunts very well
Will tunnel vision his help in pass pro and miss penetration through his gap
Footwork
Active feet always looking to chop and drive his man
Wide base, stays square very well
Slow change of direction in his pass sets when facing slant rushes and late stunts
Hand Use
Heavy hitter. Violent hands when his punch lands
Great arm length. Strong grip strength when he gets his latch

Slow counters. Going to lose most hand-fighting battles
Sustain
Great arm length and strong grip strength when he gets a good latch
Inaccurate hands leads to some slip-offs
Run Block
Quick off the line to step into his run fit with consistent positioning and power
Excellent drive blocker to walk his man into the second level or out of the play. Lethal in short-yardage situations
Pulls well to the EMOL
Gap scheme that leaves him in space and into the second level definitely a weak spot in his game. Not a good enough athlete
Elusive IDLs can sidestep him due to bad lunges at the POA
2nd Level
Struggles to catch up with DBs in space
Inconsistent angles allows LBs to beat him to the spot and make the play on the ball carrier
Hesitant getting upfield
Range
Solid athlete but scheme does not ask him to play outside his immediate area
Cannot cover the ground to be effective on screens
Finish
Does well to bury his man when given the opportunity
Down blocks are deadly
Quick to take advantage of any loss of balance of his defender and take him out of the play

Athleticism/Body Control
Quick out of his stance. Good bendy athlete
Moves very well in space to keep up with smaller defenders and move them away from run lanes
Waist bender
Anchor/Play Strength
Good explosion upon contact to overwhelm the defender
Good lower body strength and leg drive to walk his man off the ball
Can be knocked back but quick to re-anchor and hold the pocket
Pad level needs work. Can be bulled over by the a rusher with a strong, low center of gravity
Would like to see him anchor the run lane for longer than he does
Pass Block
Recovers well with strength against power rush moves though needs to improve his lower-body technique to better withstand the initial punch
Set depth needs a lot of work. Short kickslide results in undersetting before overcompensation leaves the inside move wide open. Always chasing.
Struggles to match and mirror rushers with good bend and quick hand-fighting
Awareness
Locates his man well on the move. Adjusts through traffic to block his target consistently
Needs to be more decisive at times
Footwork
Outstanding leg drive to move his man off the line and into the second level
Technique and base need a lot of work in his pass sets. Lands too narrow and can be susceptible to bull rushes
Hand Use
Good length to get hands on first and stalemate his opponent
Accurate punch
Slow to counter. A good swipe move will beat him
Short arm length
Sustain
Possesses a strong grip for a great latch when he gets his hands inside
Recovers well and stays tied up even when he doesn’t have ideal leverage
Weak upper body. Can be stacked a little easy due to poor arm length
Run Block
Launches out of his stance for good pop on his down blocks. Effective zone blocker
Good power blocker. Consistent movement off the line
Excellent positioning to seal the edge playside
Effective combo blocker into the second level
2nd Level
Great angles to the LB to keep the run lane open downfield
Range
Solid upfield climb quickness
Finish
Reliable in short-yardage situations. Collapses his man well
Very aggressive block temperament. Always outworking the man in front of him
Miscellaneous Notes

Injury History: None
Misc (Versatility/Scheme fit): Experience at LT, RT and LG
Athleticism/Body Control

Slow off the line at times. Quicker DLs can cross his face or shoot his gap

Good strength but needs to sustain his block to generate more power off the line
Weak punch at the point of contact
Pass Block

Active hands to deliver the first punch and negate any rush move he sees

Excellent latch. Rarely slips off and allows a play on the back carrier
Run Block
Great getting his hips flipped and sealing his man backside
Solid on his combo blocks into the second level
Solid angles when pulling though easy to elude in space due to slow change of direction
More of a positional blocker than a power blocker. If the defender can beat him to the spot, he can’t recover
Needs work on his pad level to sustain his drive
Too slow in outside zone to seal his man
2nd Level
Good upfield quickness
Needs to watch the grabbiness
Range
Struggles getting across the face of his man in outside zone
Can’t cover a lot of ground on screens
Finish
Can catch his man off guard on traps and bury his man
Not a mauler with a lot of aggressive temperament to his blocks

Run Block
At his best pulling into the second level where he can use his athleticism to lead block in space
Outside zone allows him to jump off the line and cross his man’s face to seal
Slow off his combo block into the second level to clear the run lane
Lacks great explosion at the point of attack to open up run lanes in inside zone scheme
Struggles to jump in front of his man and seal him backside
2nd Level
Great angles to his man
Good athleticism to stay with quicker LBs and cut them off from the ball carrier
Range
Good upfield quickly to seal on screens
Struggles working through traffic
Motor late-game wanes, unlatching off his man and pulling up early
