Blight Reef is a nautical seaside village in the South Pacific that formerly acted as a port of call for mariners and explorers alike since 1506. Founded originally as Explorers Reef 探险者礁 by explorer Zheng Li (inspired by the historical figure Zheng He), Li set up the Reef and the established lighthouse from his passages across the Pacific.
For centuries the village was a bustling coastal town, vibrant with its eagerness for travel. However as the years went on, something strange began unraveling in the Reef. The village became infamous for lost sailors and ships, in an odd phenomena akin to the Bermuda Triangle. Word of the lost sailors soon made its way around the world, and almost overnight this once prized landmark became a decaying memory.
In its wake, insidious villains of the deep began to control ports of call, the Lighthouse seemed to almost beckon them towards the Reef. Now, those who seek passage through Blight Reef should do so with caution, as it may be their most daring adventure yet!

Blight Reef is located in between Jiu Cheng and Wonderland in Disney's Dark Kingdom, with a 2nd entrance from Downtown Disney as described below.
The transition area, starting in the back of the LEGO Store, leads to near Chipwreck. As you enter, the ambient light diminishes further and further, assisted by the lack of windows. Your surroundings turn an ominous blue, and you see the structures look more and more real and organic. Welcome to Mahri Nui, home of the Pit.
When you hear this dirge, your fate among the creeps from the deep is sealed; the eyes of the Barraki will gleam from the darkness, with flashes of teeth as well. Shadows of the Sea Squids are projected onto the walls as well, circling around you. The walls of the cave also host screens, where you see Pridak, the “shark”, and the most vile of the Barraki, swim by… suddenly, a figure of Pridak and with glowing eyes pops up! Continuing further, Takadox can be seen glowing in the darkness, his jaws gnashing and his scythe arms flailing. Not being able to see all of him makes him creepier. The shadow of Mantax glides overhead, and if you look above, you can see him swimming above you. The tentacle of Kalmah will also pop up after this. Ehlek will rapidly flash in the darkness. Lastly, Carapar’s claw will be snapping at you. In the distance, you can see Nocturn glowing as well.
To disseminate the horror, plush Barraki in the style of the 2022 mini Tahu are also sold.
