Kara David’s “Kapalit ng Katahimikan” gain praises from the viewers

Kara David’s documentary entitled “Kapalit ng Katahimikan” became a hot topic from different social media platforms, receiving praises from the viewers after it aired on October 5.
The documentary tells the story of three womens from Maguindanao who experienced sexual abuse.
The first case tells the story of a mentally disabled woman suffered sexual abuse from her own uncle. In exchange for their silence- they were given a horse and P6,000. The girl was raped again by her neighbour. This time, the tribal council suggested getting them married after she became pregnant.
The second case, two young girls were abused by their own uncle. The tribal council also suggested a settlement but the victims family chose to sue the suspect in a mainstream court.
“Mahirap lang tayo pero bakit tayo binibigyan ng ganitong problema?,” the Victim's mother said.
The said documentary became a trending topic on X.
Netizens discussed their opinions about the issue and praised David for her piece.
