First Day Open For The Season September 13Th 2025
My name is Blake, and I am a co-owner and founder of Blake and Madison pumpkin patch. When I was 6 years old my family made the decision to get out of the dairy industry and go for a more cash crop approach to our 177 year old farm. After that decision was made we decided we wanted to make our mark on the farm. In light of this and our love for fall, pumpkins was the obvious choice for the perfect crop to bring our farm and the community together. So in 2014 we planted pumpkins on June 2nd. For the next 6 years we sold our pumpkins on a stand by a highway that is local to us. At the end of the 2019 season we knew we wanted to do more. Then COVID hit on march 13th, 2020 and we where stuck in our houses. We starting thinking of things that our community could get out of there houses well still being safe. So in September 2020 we opened the farm up to people who needed out of the house and had a great turn out of people each weekend. Now we have opened on our stand and our patch every year. We would love to see you at the patch. If you have any questions please email me at bmertens623@gmail.com.
My name is Madison, and I am Co-Owner and founder of Blake and Madison's Pumpkin Patch. The family legacy lives through the 7th generation of us. Every generation of our family before us lived with the same ideals to serve the community to the best of our ability. That's why when you come to our Farm, you are met with high standards and amazing service. As the 7th generation, it is our job to carry that legacy. In light of that, I am studying at North Dakota State University, Majoring In Agricultural Sciences. We hope you have the best experience at the farm. We are hoping you visit our family's legacy.
Hi, I am Kristen, I am a part of the 6th generation to live on Janestead Farm where I was born and raised. After graduating from Berlin High School I attended UW-Madison. I received a master's Degree in communicative disorders. I spent the first 18 years of my career working at Berlin hospitals as a speech-language pathologist and now starting my 7 years working for the Berlin area school district. I have always loved fall and decorating with pumpkins so it gives me great joy to see the fun that people have out at our farm.
