SWAT units are generally trained, equipped, and deployed to resolve "high-risk situations", often those regular police units are not trained or equipped to handle, such as shootouts, standoffs, raids, and hostage-takings. SWAT units are equipped with specialized weapons and equipment not normally issued to regular police units, such as automatic firearms, high-caliber sniper rifles, ballistic shields, and armored vehicles, among others. SWAT units are often trained in special tactics such as close-quarters combat, door breaching, crisis negotiation, and de-escalation.
Air Support Unit, or Air One, specializes in searching missions and being primary during vehicle pursuits. Air One will also provide observation and callouts for Deputies on the ground during scenes. Air One can also provide information on any civilians that may be suspected of a crime, or civilians that were previously BOLO. In situations where Air One can, they are able to do medical evacuations for both Law Enforcement Officers and civilians.
Marine Unit specializes in water related search and rescues missions. Marine Units can follow suspects that depart out to sea and assist officers that may be stranded. Marine Units can also assist in getting dangerous vessels out of the water and away from possibility of harming civilians or LEO.
The mission of the K-9 Unit is to assist the many Law Enforcement departments within San Andreas in their efforts of crime prevention and detection, criminal apprehension, officer safety, and service to the community. The K-9 unit archives this with the safe and effective use of a powerful tool, the police canine. K-9 officers will assist, with the help of our K-9 Partners, inthe identification of illegal narcotics, assist in the recovery of missing persons, and capture fugitive suspects, among other essential tasks.
SEU stands for Speed Enforcement Unit. You can get trained at the rank of Corporal. This unit is specialized for 10-80s, but the main goal is to patrol the streets of LS enforcing speed limits. As SEU, you can drive the Corvette, Mustang, or Camaro.
G.I.U stands for "Gang Inspection Unit". With G.I.U., you can deal with gangs disturbing the community in any way or form. The Gang unit will go more into depth and will be investigating any type of violent gang or going undercover to catch the crime being committed. The G.I.U will be keeping tabs on gangs and following their every movement, whether it's going undercover as one of the members or remaining undetected in your unmarked unit.
CTU or Corrections Transport Unit's main job is to transport suspects to the Bolingbroke Penitentiary. Upon the request of another unit, CTU will respond to a scene were a suspect needs transporting. CTU can hold up to 7 suspects at a time, making it great for large scenes.
