spray tan=NO SPF

A spray tan does NOT protect your skin from the sun.  You can still burn over your spray tan, you can still tan over your spray tan. So always wear your sunscreen! I carry an amazing SPF 30 that is perfect for your glow or anyone! Snag one today!

*please note we will not spray over a sunburn or recent burn*

MANI/PEDIS

Book any mani/pedis for 1-2 days prior to your spray tan. Do not have these services done after your spray tan as the soaks and acetone will remove your color. Do not have these services done the same day as your appointment.

MASSAGES

Enjoy your massage about 2-3 days prior so all oils and residue are clear from the skin.

Do not enjoy these services after your spray tan, color will be removed.

When to WAX/SHAVE

Waxing leaves a residue on your skin that will block the tan from developing. When shaving, try to stay away from shave creams & razors with a moisturizing strip.

Do not wax after a spray tan, color will be removed.

avoid skin on skin

Make sure to stay in those dark, loose, long sleeve clothes while your tan sets. Curling up on the couch in shorts could cause our calves to rest too close to the back of our thighs. Skin resting on skin will create heat and a dark patch. Same goes for tanks; opt for a loose, long sleeve top instead. And NO touching your body with your bare hands, we don't want them turning orange!

FACIALS

Book facials for about 3 days prior so all oils and serums are clear from the skin. Dermaplanes a day prior. If the facial is a chemical peel or medical grade facial, have it done at least a week prior or consult with your esthetician first.

Do not enjoy these services after your spray tan, color will be removed.

FAQ'S

You wear whatever makes you feel comfortable & safe, just think about any tan lines you may or may not mind. It is generally recommended to wear a dark, old bathing suit or undergarments. Once the session is complete, you'll want to dress in dark, loose, long sleeves & pants while the tan sets. Please avoid tight leggings, jeans or anything that may rub.

Spray tans do not involve exposure to UVA or UVB rays. They will not harm or damage your skin, the solution sets on the top layer of skin and doesn't even absorb into the other layers. The active ingredient DHA, is FDA approved to be applied topically only. It is not recommended for ingestion or inhalation. We provide complimentary sticky feet, nose filters, eye covers & a lip balm for your protection. It is recommended to wear bottoms when you tan as we want to cover any mucous membranes. Extraction fans are also used to help decrease overspray in the air, reducing what is inhaled. Please contact your physician prior if you are pregnant, if there are any medical conditions or other concerns. Ingredient lists are always available upon request.

No matter the occasion, it is always recommended to do a trial run if time allows. Trial run can be at least 3-4 weeks prior to your event. This gives us the chance to make sure all goes well, that you love it, make any adjustments, then book your next tan for 2 days prior to your event date.

If you are a new client, please allow 45 minutes for your appointment. This gives us time to consult, get paperwork signed, do the spray tan then go over your aftercare and how to use your products. Established/Returning clients, I like to allot a 30 minute time frame so they don't feel rushed. But return clients can definitely be done in as little as 15 minutes.

Please wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing to your tan, just think about any tan lines you may or may not mind. Generally an old, dark bathing suit or undergarments are preferred. Some clients even bring pasties or a bandeau bra as other options! Once the tan is done, please dress into dark, loose, comfy clothing. (Disposable thongs are available complimentary.)

Please DO NOT shower any less than 4 hours prior to appointment time and even then make sure it is a cool, quick shower with no soaps, shaving or shampoos! Do all of this extra self care 24 hours prior to your appointment. Showering too close to tan time can cause the tan to not take properly due to ph levels changing, products residue left on the skin, the skin soaking up too much water and pores may still be open. Coming straight from work, school or the gym? Don't shower! I will supply you with prep wipes for a small fee.

"Set Time" means the duration of time that you will be wearing the spray tan solution before doing your first rinse. Depending on which solution we go with and your plans for the day, you will either let the tan set for at least 8 hours or anywhere between 2-6. We will discuss your plans for after your appointment and then decide which blend and time frame will work best for you. During this time, you want to avoid handwashing, sweating, exercise, showers, steam, etc. These will remove color & interrupt the development process. You want to stay cool and dry, dressing in loose comfy long sleeves & pants. If we tan without a bra or undergarments, you will want to stay without those while setting. So keep this in mind if going back to work or having somewhere to be the same day. No bra during tan time means no bra for the rest of the day. (always bring a towel to cover car seats or arm rests while driving)

Adhesives will leave a mark on the skin when spray tanning. Even if you haven't worn the adhesive in a few days, that residue can definitely still be on the skin. If you are a regular user of adhesives, try to have them in an unseen area when possible. Another option is to remove them at least a week prior to spray tan day.

Generally, Yes! As long as you've rinsed well you should be able to get dressed and ready as normal; any outfit, make up, etc. However, I do say avoid a sports bra for the first day as it can be very binding and trap a lot of heat. We don't want your chest fading right away. If tanning two days prior to your event, also limit your number of showers & no excessive sweating until after your special occasion. This just helps make sure the tan stays as fresh as it can! Remember the more we shower, sweat, exercise, wear on the tan- the quicker it will fade.

The day we spray, you want to dress in loose, dark clothing as the cosmetic bronzer can transfer to clothing, car seats or bedding. Bring an old blanket or towel to cover your seats with or to sleep on. Once you have rinsed at your directed time, as long as you have rinsed well you shouldn't see any other color transferring to any materials. However, do know our skin cells are always shedding. Now your skin cells are tinted from the tan so it is possible to notice after a few days that there is color on your bra or waistbands. Spot treat and wash immediately. To help eliminate this, apply an oil free lotion all over the body and use a nice dusting powder in those high friction areas. This will create a barrier and help protect the tan and your clothing.

With proper prep & after care, the tan generally lasts about 7-10 days. But please do understand that everyone's bodies and daily lifestyles are different. Age, hormones, medications, skin shed cycle, normal wear; all of those things can influence the development and length of the tan. In addition, the more you shower, sweat, wear on the tan- the quicker it will fade. And don't forget, we carry all the best after care that you need!

Sunburns take longer to heal than we think. It can actually take many weeks for a sunburn to fully heal. Even with redness or peeling gone, if we attempt to spray tan too soon, that peeling effect may start again. The spray tan will then develop very uneven and splotchy. We will not spray tan over a sunburn or recent burn. This is especially important for Brides! You must wear sunscreen and avoid burns & harsh tan lines in the few months leading up to the big day! Inform your spray tan artist if you are or have burned recently. The tan will not be of desired results. We have the right to refuse service.

A spray tan gives pretty much instant results. There is no need to tan once, then tan again a few days later. I actually don't recommend tanning more than once a week. The solutions I use along with the products I give you and all the information, should leave you with a tan that lasts about 7-10 days. But always remember I can not guarantee any specific date for when the tan will start to fade. All of our bodies and daily lifestyles are different. Also the more you shower, sweat, wear on the tan- the quicker it will fade.

I can definitely help ya! When booking, please put "Tan Lines" in the Notes section. Also know a small fee will be added on to your service total. Filling tan lines is never guaranteed to be a perfect match, but the process will definitely help to even color. If you do not have harsh tan lines, maybe more of a gradual "farmer's tan" put that in the Notes section still. We will discuss more at your appointment!

If rain is happening or in the forecast, please come prepared! Bring an umbrella, wear loose pants and a long sleeve top. Wear closed toe shoes. You can even bring a loose jacket, hoodie or blanket to better protect your head and face. Appointments will still run as scheduled, policies apply as normal.

While I have spray tanned many expecting mommies, it is always recommended to consult with your physician and get their ok first. It is also strongly recommended to wait until you are through your first trimester. Protective gear is supplied as always, ingredient list available upon request. Consent form regarding "Pregnant or nursing" will need to be signed.

Many of us like to get a little base of color before hitting the beach or pool. This is completely fine, just understand the tan does not generally last as long. We tend to not stay as hydrated as we do when here at home. Dehydrated and dry skin will not hold the tan nearly as well as hydrated, moisturized skin. Relaxing in a Hot Tub will generally strip the tan pretty quickly. Sitting in the sand can rub/fade the tan. Short, quick dips in the pool or ocean are recommended rather than longer swims. It is advised to rinse with clean water after being in salt water or chlorine, then pat dry and moisturize. Tan extenders or a DHA infused shower gel can help extend the life of your tan while on vacation. Don't forget to wear your sunscreen!

Yes!  When you exfoliate prior to your appointment, you are getting rid of old dead skin cells that are on top of your skin. If you do not exfoliate away those dead skin cells, there is a good chance the tan may not take well or you will be left with an uneven  tan. I carry the perfect oil free scrub and exfoliating mitts so be sure to grab one prior to your appointment!

Spray tans generally do not react well to Dove, Dial or bar soaps. Look for soaps and lotions that are oil-free & mineral oil-free, no alcohol, no sulfates or parabens, no fragrances or essential oils. Visit our Infographics tab for a list of products/ingredients to avoid. I also always carry all the prep and after care you need! Stop in for some Spray Tanned approved goodies!

Remember the more we wash and wear on our tan, the quicker it will fade. So this goes for face scrubs, masks and creams. We all have our routines and it can definitely be hard to skip out on that, I get it! But if you can, skip or minimize your normal routine for the duration of your tan and choose some gentle, cool rinses instead. And if you don't want to change your routine, try our new Face Tanning Drops! Just a drop or two added to your moisturizer at night will have you waking up with that beautiful bronze again.  You could also add in our self tanner, the DHA infused shower gel or tan extender.*In preparation for your tan, it is also suggested to stop any acne or anti aging creams a few days prior or opt out of having your face sprayed. Lastly, we offer Face Sprays only, so if you find your face fading quickly, book a respray as needed!

Please keep in mind that our bodies are always changing and there are many factors that could influence the outcome of your tan such as: medical conditions & medications, chemo, hormones, menopause, age, dry skin, improper prep or after care. Please reach out f you have any issues or concerns. We will work with you troubleshoot and are available to do a patch test prior to your appointment when necessary; especially in the case of certain medical conditions, sensitive skin or medications.
