Great Books
You don't need to actually buy these of course: remember to try your local library...
"Pale Blue Dot" by Carl Sagan - books don't come much better than this: try to get hold of the big hardback version with all the pictures in!
"The Case For Mars" by Robert Zubrin - how to land humans on Mars.
"A Step Farther Out" by Jerry Pournelle - an optimistic view of the future!
"The Stargazer's Handbook" by Giles Sparrow - a very well-presented guide to what can be seen in the night sky, and where to find it.
