Opening ceremony at the main entrance celebrating 250 years of American independence. Short program presented by the Montpelier Historical Society and the Francois Godfroy chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 10th-anniversary fur-trade-era living-history encampment recreating life from 1760–1840 on the former reservation of Myaamia Chief Francois Godfroy. Friday is Student Education Day and is open to the public. Throughout the day: visits with Johnny Appleseed, 18th-century music by Fiddlesix, linen and wool spinning by Janel Franks and Linda Fife, the Pinchon Homestead, Mrs. Starr's Games for Kids, and demonstrations of tomahawk, firearms and life skills. Camp hours are Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM. Adults $7; children 12 and under free.

John Velasquez will lead a bird walk through Wilderness Park and Prairie.
